Despite the very short notice Suzanne

and Cevat

joined me at Lilydale today for an impromptu ride. 

Being mid-week, without the usual traffic issues in the hills we gave the Dandenongs a thorough exploration including Mt Dandenong plus Sherbrooke and assorted backroads

before stopping at a lovely café in Gembrook for a pleasant break and chat.

Then we rode the delightful road past Kurth Kiln

through Hoddles Creek and checked out lots more back roads after crossing the Warburton Hwy, passed orchards, farms and vineyards

before touching on Healesville and riding some more open roads around and back

to Yarra Glen where we stopped for a late lunch.

We then rode back to Lilydale via the aerodrome and then on home.

Despite being quite cool in the morning (someone resorted to heated grips being turned on) but riding conditions were great.

I thoroughly enjoyed the company and riding.
